Rasmussen, Barbara Jean (1941 –1963)

 

Mrs. Roy Rasmussen, 22, died at her home in Greenwood December 3, 1963.

 

Mrs. Rasmussen, the former Barbara Jean Peissig, daughter of William and Martha (Boxrucker) Peissig, was born February 1, 1941, in Thorp. She received her education in the Thorp grade school and graduated from the Owen High School in 1959.  Her marriage to Roy Rasmussen took place February 27, 1960 in Owen.  Since then the Rasmussen’s have resided six miles northwest of Greenwood.

 

Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Cheryl Lynn, 3, and Dawn Renee, 2; her mother, Mrs. William Peissig; a sister, Diane; two brothers, Duane and Dale Peissig; and her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Anton Boxrucker, all of Owen.

 

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenwood. The Rev. Edward Hartung officiated.  Burial was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers were: James Petkovsek, James Boe, James Alberts, Robert Scheuerman, Arthur Lepage and Verian Noah.

 

People from away who attended were: Mrs. William Peissig, Mrs. Anton Boxrucker, Miss Diane Peissig, Duane and Dale Peissig, and Mr. and Mrs. Pete Peissig, all of Owen; Mr. and Mrs. John Denk of Waukesha; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Jeitz of Minneapolis, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Rasmussen and daughter, Bonnie and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Nikolai of Marshfield; many relatives from Park Falls, Phillips, Curtiss, Stetsonville, Dorchester, Colby and Taylor; and friends from Withee, Owen, Neillsville, Willard, Thorp and the Greenwood area.
