Eldore "Jack" Seefeldt, 89, of Unity died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at home, with his family by his side. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer. The Rev. David DePaoli will officiate. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011 at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Spencer and again from noon until the time of service Monday at the church.

Jack was born Sept. 1, 1922, in Clark County, the son of Edwin and Gladys (Anderson) Seefeldt. He proudly served his country during World War II from 1941 to 1945. On July 6, 1945, he was united in marriage to Adeline Greening. The couple spent their entire working life farming.

Jack was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer. He enjoyed time spent with friends, family, and especially his grandchildren. He took special pride in gardening and growing trees. Jack loved to listen to the Lutheran Hour and he also liked playing Yatzee.

He is lovingly survived by his children, Darold Seefeldt, Joyce Alsteen, Duane (Rendean) Seefeldt, Rhonda (Joe) Weix, Trudy Carey, Mark (Vicky) Seefeldt; as well as 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He will truly be missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Adeline; parents, Edwin and Gladys; son-in-law, Tim Alsteen; as well as brothers, Maynard Seefeldt, Philmore "Sam" Seefeldt; and a sister, Dorothy Struck.

In lieu of flowers those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Jack's name are encouraged to do so to "The Lutheran Hour".
