Marvin, William Seward (11 March 1900 - 16 November 1963)

 

William Seward Marvin, 63, lifelong resident of Greenwood died suddenly November 16, at seven p.m. at his home in Greenwood, of a heart attack.

 

Mr. Marvin, son of Seward and Henrietta (Fravert) Marvin, was born in Greenwood March 11, 1900.  He received his education in the Greenwood schools.

 

He was married July 14, 1945, in Greenwood to Mrs. Esther Vine Marvin.  They resided on his farm 2½ miles southwest of here until two months ago, when they purchased the former Arends residence and moved to this city.

 

Surviving are his wife; two step-sons, Kenneth Marvin of Greenwood and Alfred Marvin of Evansville; two sisters, Mrs. Archie (Ruth) Cleveland of Racine and Mrs. Fred (Laura) Funk of Caledonia; and two brothers, Harry Marvin of Greenwood and Henry Marvin of Granton.

 

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from Grace Methodist Church, with the Rev. David Kellin officiating. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

The pallbearers were: Lawrence Hribar, Jake Barr, Carl Weber, Ignatz Sladish, Peter Korntved and John Susa, Sr.  Mrs. Wayne Voss sang "In the Sweet Bye and Bye" and "Abide with Me" accompanied by Mrs. Daniel Olson on the organ.

 

Out of town people attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Roy Vine and son, Bernard, and Harley Vine of Evansville; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Marvin and Mr. and Mrs. Darlene Fletcher of Albany; Henry Marvin, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Trimberger and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hillert of Granton; Mr. and Mrs.  Arthur Fravert, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Fravert, Dale Fravert, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Heiking, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wolf, Mr. and Mrs. David Kantzer, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mortimer, Mr. and Mrs. August Podobnik, Mrs. Jerome Bertz, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Schweiger, and Ernest Schoettler of Loyal; Sam Asperheim, Ross Asperheim and Elwin Asperheim of Duluth, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Funk, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Archie  Cleveland and Jerome Vine of Racine; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Funk, Jr., of Caledonia; Ernest Funk of Union Grove; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Funk and Algie Vine of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Vine and daughter, Sandra; Mr. and Mrs. Mark Campbell, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Vine and Mr. and Mrs. Chester Vine of Janesville; Mrs. Merle Bushell and son, Duane, and Mrs. Otis Stowe and son, Mel, of Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Kenyon of Spencer; and Mrs. Herman Huntley of Neillsville.
