Neillsville Area (24 October 1963)


Wayne Kronberger, Elmer Steltenpohl, Jess Collins, Al Marg and Fritz Steltenpohl left Friday to hunt deer in Montana for a week.


Billy Holt of River Falls spent Sunday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Holt.


Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Zilk were in Milwaukee for the weekend, visiting Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Zilk. They attended the Mantovani concert Sunday.


Mr. and Mrs. Schwellenbach spent Saturday with their son and family at the Clyde Schwellenbach home in Durand.


Mr. and Mrs. William Schwellenbach spent last weekend with their daughter and son, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Clark and Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Schwellenbach, in Beloit.


Mr. and Mrs. Gayle Dyre and Grant spent Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Paulson and celebrated Grant’s second birthday.


Mr. and Mrs. Bob Schultz of Marshfield spent Sunday at the Howard Schultz home.


Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Schmidt visited Saturday evening at the Edward Schill home in Auburndale; and helped her mother, Mrs. Kathryn Wolf, and Mrs. Al Randorf of Marshfield, celebrate their birthdays.


Mr. and Mrs. John Jones of Waukesha visited Sunday and Monday at the Gerald Schmidt home.


Mr. and Mrs. Nordahl Stigen took Mr. and Mrs. Selmar Hansen to Mindoro Monday to spend a few days at the Elvin Eide and Mrs. Martha Tamten homes. From there they will leave for their home in Lansing, Mich.


Mrs. Louie Knoop of Tyler, Minn., spent Friday with Mrs. Ole Larsen.


Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Larsen had their infant son, David Douglas, baptized Sunday at St. Mary’s Church. Sponsors were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Chadwick.


Sunday guests at the Walter Larsen home were Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Larsen and family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Chadwick and family, Mrs. Ole Larsen, and Miss Sandra Foemmel.


Sunday visitors at the Ray Filitz home were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Orbert of Merrill and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Korth. Weekend guests were Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Filitz of Rosendale.


LaVerne Howard, Jim Schofield and Paul Johnson of Monona, Ia., brought LaVerne’s mother, Mrs. Harvey Howard and three children of Monona to Neillsville Saturday. All were overnight guests at the Hugh Howard home.  The three boys returned home Sunday and Mrs. Howard and children went to the Louis Worchel home for a visit. She is also visiting her mother, Mrs. Lillian Worchel, who is a hospital patient.


Mr. and Mrs. Argil Stigen and family visited Saturday evening at the Hugh Howard home.


Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jacobi and Larry of Marshfield were Sunday guests of Mrs. Louie Finder and Mr. and Mrs. Melford Williams.


Mr. and Mrs. Garald Hart entertained Sunday in honor of their granddaughter, Jill Hart, on her first birthday. Guests were Jill’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hart, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Burr and family and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bedell and family.


The Rev. and Mrs. Jacob Grether and Mary Jane spent the weekend in Indiana and attended the wedding of Ruth Ann Berry in Decatur. The Rev. Mr. Grether spoke at Harvest Tone Festival services at the United Church of Christ at Millersburg Sunday morning and evening.
