Virnig, Kathryn I. (Marriage - 5 October 1963)

Nuptials in St. Stephan’s Catholic Church in Chili were performed October 5, 1963, by the Rev. Fr. Carrol J. Walljasper uniting in marriage Miss Kathryn I. Virnig of Rt. 1 Granton and Hubert Reigel of Rt. 2 Marshfield. The altar was decorated with bronze chrysanthemum plants, and a bouquet of red roses was placed at the statue of the Blessed Virgin.

The bride chose for her wedding a ballerina-length gown of pure white Sata sheer over taffeta, bodice of which was styled with a rounded neckline and three-quarter length sleeves. Appliqués of Alencon lace and pearls trimmed the bodice and skirt. The full skirt was fashioned in a bell-shaped effect. A fingertip veil of English illusion was attached to a Coronation crown of imported crystals and pearls. The bride carried a white prayer book, topped with a lavender orchid with white streamers extending from it.

Mrs. Kathleen Virnig, sister-in-law of the bride, was her matron-of-honor.  She wore a street-length dress of turquoise chiffon over taffeta and matching headpiece with veil.  A yellow rose corsage completed her ensemble.

Roman Virnig served as bestman.  Loren Virnig ushered.

Following the ceremony a dinner for immediate relatives was served at the home of the bride.  A reception for relatives and friends was held in the afternoon.

Mrs. Riedel is employed as a legal secretary in Marshfield, and her husband is engaged in shop work in Marshfield.

On their return from a wedding trip to southern Wisconsin, Mr. and Mrs. Riedel will reside on Rt. 2 Marshfield.

The guest list included relatives and friends from Marshfield, Medford, Stetsonville, Green Bay, Milwaukee, Milladore, Auburndale, Blenker, Chili, Rudolph, Colby, Wausau, Wisconsin Rapids and Granton.
