Schwanebeck, Sharon (Marriage - 24 August 1963)

The Rev. Norman Lindloff performed a double ring ceremony Saturday in St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville, uniting in marriage Miss Sharon Schwanebeck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Schwanebeck of Pittsville, and Raymond Wetzel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Wetzel of Neillsville.  The church was decorated with baskets of white gladioli.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, entered the church attired in a traditional gown of bridal taffeta.  The floor length bouffant skirt was complemented with a chapel train. The Basque bodice was accented with a Viennese neckline and long, tapered sleeves that came to a point and buttoned at the wrist. A bouffant fingertip veil of bridal illusion was attached to a Cleopatra crown fashioned of large and small imported pearls. She carried a bouquet of Rubrum lilies.

Miss Karen Wetzel, sister of the groom, was maid of honor, Judy Livingston, a cousin of the bride, was her bridesmaid.

Bestman was Robert Tichy, and groomsmen were Theodore Stiemke and Herbert Nemitz.  Ushers were Roger Helm of Granton and Norbert Behling of Watertown.

The bride is a graduate of Pittsville High School and the Humboldt Institute in Minneapolis, where she has been employed as a secretary.  The groom, a graduate of Neillsville High School, attended the University of Wisconsin and is a postal clerk in Neillsville.

On their return from a wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Wetzel will reside in Neillsville.

Correction - In last week’s issue of The Clark County Press, we were in error in the Schwanebeck-Wetzel wedding write-up.  Miss Jan Schwanebeck, sister of the bride, was her maid of honor and bridesmaids were Miss Karen Wetzel, sister of the groom, and Miss Judy Livingston, a cousin of the bride.
