Altenburg, Harry (19 JAN 1900 - 11 APR 1913)

Harry, the third oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Altenburg, died last Friday night after a few days of illness caused by inflammation of the bowels and Monday afternoon was laid to rest in the Lynn Cemetery, Rev. Peckham of Grand Rapids, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiated.  The choir consisted of Susie and Edwin Ketelle and Roland Washburn, with Anna Ketelle as organist.  Deceased had reached the age of 13 years, 2 months and 20 days.  He leaves to mourn his early death, his grief stricken parents, three brothers and six sisters.  The pallbearers were Leonard and Geo. Zuehlke, Eddie Guk, Edgar Albrecht, Carl Pusheck and Raymond Lindow, all schoolmates of the departed one.  The large crowd of friends and neighbors, the beautiful floral offerings bespoke the sympathy extended to the bereaved ones in their hour of sorrow.  Harry was a bright and health boy and dearly beloved by his classmates, but the grim reaper spares neither young nor old, strong or feeble, and sooner or later we will too trod the path that leads to that unseen realm from which no man returns.
