Bert Ayers called on friends here Saturday.

 

Dave Hillert bought a horse from Ernest Garbush.

 

The ladies aid of Rev. Reiff’s parish will meet with Mrs. Fred Grassman next Wednesday.

 

Remember that the Granton brass band and the Farmers Orchestra will entertain of a concert and dance Easter Monday.

 

Sid Davis went to Wausau Tuesday on a week’s business trip.

 

John Goebel, C. Gerzemehle, Aug. Schlinsog Jr. and George Brooks transacted business at the county seat on Tuesday.

 

Jeffrey Gardner, after a few months stay here at his son F. Gardner’s, went home to Pepin County on Tuesday.

 

W.S. Davis went to Hillsboro Tuesday on a several day’s business trip.

 

Miss Ruth Lee visited Neillsville friends on Tuesday.

 

John Mooney came home from Palmer, Mich. on Tuesday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Downer were Neillsville visitors Tuesday, to have dental work done.

 

Miss Bertha Riedel spent Tuesday with friends at Neillsville.

 

Co. Supt. Miss Elizabeth Kennedy drove through here Tuesday on official business.

 

Ross Paulson left for the Dakotas Tuesday for another horse buying trip.  He expects to be home a week from today, the 21st, with another load of heavy horses, mostly brood mares.

 

Reinhold Viergutz went to Marshfield Friday.

 

Elmer Knickle went to Marshfield Friday.

 

Mrs. Homer Downer visited relatives at Neillsville on Friday.

 

Jos. Lowe of Neillsville was here on business Monday.

 

A.J. Prest of Lindsey was her on business on Monday.

 

Maple sugar season is at hand.  Sugar weather set in very decidedly on Monday.

 

Mrs. Sid Davis is visiting at Grand Rapids since Tuesday.

 

Miss Hallie Eberhardt went to Black River Falls, Sunday.

 

Arthur Stallman came home laste last week for a day with the home folk and best girl and left again on Sunday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. S.W. Rounseville of Plymouth came up on Friday of last week for a visit at Fred Zwick’s.

 

Pete Paulson was over from Neillsville last Friday to superintend the unloading and setting up of a carload of Rod cars for the Knorr-Rausch Hardware Co.

 

Mrs. Norman Pierce returned to Duluth Friday after a few weeks visit here at the T. Wage Home.

 

Mrs. Emil Kettler of Milladore arrived here Saturday on a visit at the C.C. Manning home.

 

Mrs. Haas of Stanley is visiting at Ferdinand Reinhart’s since Wednesday.

 

Will Esch of Lodi, state rural route inspector, was here on official business on Wednesday.

 

Mrs. Leonard Cole, who had been caring for her sister, Mrs. Fred Hart, went home to Humbird last Saturday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Frank and little son, after a week’s visit between the Herman Grobe and Herman Garbush homes, returned to Chili Tuesday.  They leave for their new home at Lebanon, Oregon tomorrow.

 

The band boys last Sunday elected Charles Neinas as their manager in place of Kearney Davis who resigned.

 

Harry Cattanach purchased the August Storm place and moved into same last week.

 

The concert and free dance given by Prof. Vincent in honor of his birthday last Saturday eve was a very enjoyable affair and everyone had a good time.

 

Mrs. Frank Converse, who had been caring for Mrs. Herman Batch and baby for 10 days, went to Black River Falls Tuesday.  She is expected back to continue her nursing, tomorrow; though both her patients are reported as doing nicely.

 

W.J. Thayer purchased the Kurzok house last week and is having same remodeled to a considerable extent, before h will move into it.

 

Mrs. A.D. Garbush and son Herbert were over from Neillsville Monday and attended the funeral of the late Clarence Garbush.

 

Miss Alma Riedel went to Athens Saturday to visit the E. Hubing and Wm. Rinehart families.  On Monday, and in company with her sister Mrs. Hubing, she went to Oshkosh to see her brother.

 

O.F. Gruenke, formerly proprietor of the York Center Cheese Factory, was down from Clintonville the fore part of the week visiting his friends Alex Kriewaldt. We understand that he intends to locate here in the near future.

 

W.E. Perry of Milwaukee, Grand Secretary, will deliver the Easter address to the Commandery at Neillsville Easter Sunday, and he will speak at the Congregation Church that evening.

 

Carl Berg, while feeding his stock Tuesday, had the wire handle of a cotosuet tube puncture his wrist and inflict a most painful injury, necessitating a physician being called to attend him.

 

Mrs. Henry Sternitzky went to Wausau Monday to visit relatives.

 

Rev. Reiff preached at Loyal Sunday for Rev. Kemena who, with Mrs. Kemena, was called to Mount Olive, Ill. last week to attend the funeral of a brother of hers.

 

L.A. Reichert of Chili was her on business on Monday.

 

Prof and Mrs. G.D. Vincent entertained a large company of friends at their home on Saturday evening in further celebrating his birthday.

 

Miss Martha Schwichtenberg, with Mrs. Jos. Felzer and Viva and Leon Drake, went to the former’s home in Neillsville Saturday and made an over Sunday visit.

 

Clark Waterman, L. Todd, Ben Beeckler, the Misses Vera Beeckler, Frances Smith and Vivian Brooks, with Mr. and Mrs. Baer and daughter Helen, heard the Imperial band bell ringers at Neillsville last Saturday evening and enjoyed the musical treat.

 

Wm. Zorn went to Eau Claire Wednesday.

 

Mrs. Walter Moldenhauer went to Chicago Wednesday to enter a hospital for a surgical operation.

 

Wanted - a girl to work in hotel.  Good wages, Herman Wegner, Granton.

 

Theodore Beilke was suddenly taken alarmingly ill on Tuesday and suffered much.  He is decidedly improved at this writing, however.

 

Mrs. hale Davis and son Rob came home from Minneapolis Tuesday night.

 

Wm. Storm and Carl Schuelke went to Colby Thursday to spend a couple of days with the former’s brother August.

 

Alex Kriewaldt made a business trip to Marshfield yesterday.

 

Schoengarth’s orchestra will give a dance at the Chili Opera Hall Saturday, March 15th.
