Zielke, Myron "Bud" M. (? - 23 October 2011) With Flag

 

Bud Zielke, 89, of Hatfield passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, at his home.

 

He built his retirement home in Hatfield after living in River Falls and in White Bear lake, MN, with his wife and children.  He enjoyed fishing, gardening and woodworking. Bud served in the 128th, 32nd Infantry Division during WWII.

 

He is survived by a daughter, Barbara of Oakdale, MN; sons, Mike (Mary) Zielke and Byron Zielke, both of Big Fork, MN; sisters, Violet and Carol; brothers, Ray (Irmgard) Zielke and Lynn (Louise) Zielke; and a sister-in-law, Betty.  He is also survived by five grandchildren, Michael Jr., Mark (Amy), Martin (Heather), Melissa (Lucas) and Misty (Josh); and eight great-grandchildren, Ashley, Rae Anne, Ruby, Jada, Zak, Peter, Melody and Issac; and three special friends, Ken, Brittany and Mavis.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Mae (Machtan) Zielke.

 

Funeral services for Bud will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, prior to the service. Interment will be in the Town of Lynn Cemetery, with Military Honors accorded by the Neillsville Veteran’s Council.
