Keeney, Hannah A. (13 May 1844 - 28 March 1911)

Mrs. Hannah A. Keeney died of Atrophic Intestinal Hepaticas (consumption of liver and kidneys) at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. E. Cole, 517 S. 33^rd St. Tacoma, Wash., Tuesday, March 28, 1911.  Mrs. Keeney was born in Crown Point, Essex Co., N. Y., May 13, 1844, where she spent the early part of her life.  At the age of 22, Hannah Converse was married to David H. McIntyre. After a few short years of married life, her husband was killed by a falling tree, in 1879.  She removed to Granton, Wis., in 1885, and to Gig Harbor, Wash., in 1902.  In 1904, she married Mr. Geo. F. Keeney and had resided in that vicinity until her death.  Besides her husband, Mr. Geo. F. Keeney she left two sons, F. D. McIntyre of Rosedale, Wash. And A. W. McIntyre of Purdy, Wash., and two daughters, Mrs. W. W. Sutherland of Rosedale and Mrs. C. E. Cole of Tacoma, two brothers, Mr. John Converse of Rosedale and Free Converse of Granton, and one sister, Mrs. John Enkins (not clear) of Potsdam, N. Y.  Mrs. Keeney was a faithful wife and loving mother, beloved by all who knew her. She was a member of the Gig Harbor Grange, also the Unity Club. 

Funeral services were held at the Rosedale Church which was beautifully decorated with wild flowers and evergreens. The casket was blanketed with a profusion of choice cut flowers. There were many floral offerings from friends in Gig Harbor and Tacoma.  Interment was made in the Rosedale Cemetery, the Rev. Mathews officiating.
