Laurent, Arthur (18 NOV 1903 - JUN 1958)

 

Funeral services were held Friday morning, June 6th at the Thorp Funeral Home for Arthur W. Laurent of Milwaukee, Wis., who died at Gladstone, Montana, while on a vacation trip.  The Rev. Charles J. Hart of Baltimore, Maryland officiated, and burial was made in the Thorp Cemetery.  Pallbearers included Oscar Boie, Harry Boie, Ray Ketterhagen, Walter Braatz, Frank Braatz, and Loren Bivans, all of the Thorp area.

 

Mr. Laurent was born on Nov. 18, 1903, in Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), the son of Frank and Margaret Laurent.  In 1912 his parents moved to a farm in the Town of Worden where he lived until 1936, managing the home farm for several years.  From 1936 until 1942 he opeated a shoe shop in Stanley and then moved to Milwaukee, where he was employed by the A.O. Smith Corp. until the time of his death.  He is survived by two brothers, Francis of Stanley and Eugene of Medford, and two sisters, Mrs. Charles J Hart (Belle) of Baltimore, Maryland, and Eleanore of Guatemala City, Guatemala.
