Mary Ellen Von Haden and Donald H. Henke were married Saturday, June 7, 1958 in a 10 o’clock ceremony in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at Augusta, Wis., performed by Rev. Edwin Knauf, which was followed by a nuptial mass.

 

Mary Ellen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Von Haden of Augusta, and Donald is the son of Peter Henke of the town of Worden (Clark Co., Wis.)

 

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of white taffeta with tiers of nylon and lace ruffles, a lace bodice with high neckline, Peter Pan collar and long lace sleeves.  Her shoulder length veil was held by a headpiece of lace set with a tiny with tiny seed pearls.  Her bouquet was of yellow tea roses and white carnations and streamers to which tiny rosebuds were attached.

 

Attending the bride in a yellow taffeta floor length gown with tiers of net and lace ruffles was Mrs. Marlin Johnson, sister of the groom.  She wore a lace bolero over the strapless gown and had a headband of small yellow roses and carried a bouquet of orchid and white carnations.  Completing her ensemble was a necklace and earrings, a gift from the bride.

 

Mr. Marlin Johnson, brother-in-law, served as best man and ushering were Leonard Von Haden, the bride’s brother, and Duane Licht, a friend of Stanley, Wis.

 

The grandmothers, Mrs. Annie Von Haden of Augusta and Mrs. Mary Vanderloop of Stanley were honored with corsages of white carnations.

 

Immediately following the services a dinner was served to about 110 relatives and friends in the parish hall.  At 2 p.m. a reception was held at the Eau Claire County Clubhouse for guests numbering 200.

 

After a trip out west to the Black Hills, etc., the newlyweds will be at home on the farm in the town of Worden.

 

Pre-nuptial showers were held by friends and relatives at the Eau Claire County Clubhouse and at the Peter Henke farm house.

Vanderloop, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Peterson and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Licht and family of Stanley; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Frese and family, Mrs. Louise Henkel, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Henke and Mr. and Mrs. Art Jacques and son, Thomas of Thorp, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Haas and family, Cadott; Henry Hoks, Menasha, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Vanderloop and daughters, Fredonia; Roy and Lyle Brown of Cedarburg; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Wry of Black Creek, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Stelter, Irene Von Haden, Bloomer; Mr. and Mrs. George Wagner, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Pekovich, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Liobe, Mrs. Mary Anderson, Mrs. Charles Foster, Mr. and Mrs. Andy Page and family and Mrs. Alice Page of Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Von Haden, Mr. and Mrs. Wenzel Felber, Mrs. Mary Von Haden and Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Roseneau and family of Tomah.
