Sisson, Shirley M. (8 MAY 1931 - 12 MAY 1988)

 

Rural Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) resident Mrs. William (Shirley M.) Sisson, 57, died early Thursday, May 12, 1980, following a lingering illness, at Memorial Hospital.

 

Rev. Loren W. Hickerson conducted services on Saturday, May 14, at United Church of Christ, Neillsville.  Mrs. Deon Spangler accompanied the U.C.C. choir.  Friends and neighbors served as pallbearers.  Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.

 

A daughter of Walter and Lena (Boemer) Hecht, she was born in Clovis, N.M., on May 8, 1931.  She graduated from DuBois, Neb., High School in 1949.  After attending college at Lindsburg, Kansas and Minneapolis, Minn., she worked for the Indian School (Sunburst) in Neillsville from 1953 to 1960.

 

On Aug. 28, 1960, she married William W. Sisson at Bern, Kansas.  The couple farmed in the Town of Eaton until 1981, when they retired.

 

She was a member of U.C.C. Sewing Circle and the Clark County Historical Society.

 

Surviving besides her husband is a daughter, Mrs. Eric (Naomi) Jorgensen of Alexandria, Va.; two brothers, Rev. Bryce Hecht of Neligh, Neb. and Gayle Hecht of DuBois, Neb.

 

She was predeceased by her parents.

 

Gesche Funeral Home handled arrangements.
