Funeral services for Frank Sladek, 53, of Marshfield, were conducted Wednesday afternoon from the Bergemann Funeral Home in Neillsville. The Rev. Lloyd Mauer of the Neillsville Methodist Church was in charge.  Mr. Sladek died Sunday in a Marshfield hospital.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Frank Jim Sladek, son of the late Venzel and Agnes (Svatos) Sladek, was born August 10, 1909, in Czechoslovakia.  The family came to the United States in 1911 and located on a farm in the Town of York.  He received his education in the schools of that town and on September 26, 1931, he was married to Anna Tichy in Neillsville.  They lived in Chicago for a while and later in Greenwood and Loyal.  In 1947 they moved into the home farm.  For the last six years they had lived in Marshfield where Mr. Sladek was employed.

He is survived by his wife and the following children: a son, Donald Sladek of Granton; and a daughter, Mrs. Fred (Mildred) Grap, Jr., of Neillsville; and five grandchildren.  Other survivors include two brothers, James of Lancaster, Cal., and John of Marshfield; and a sister, Mrs. Louie (Mary) Walters of Tampa, Fla.
