Zank, Jeanette (22 March 1923 - 5 September 2011)

 

Jeanette Zank, 88, of Neillsville died Monday, Sept. 5, 2011, at the Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center in Neillsville.

 

Funeral services for Jeanette will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at the United Church of Christ in Neillsville.  Pastor Bryan Olson will officiate.  Music will be provided by Eileen Zank, organist and Walter Karl, soloist.  Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the United Church of Christ.

Jeanette Zank, 88, of Neillsville died Monday, Sept. 5, 2011, at the Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center in Neillsville.

 

Jeanette Irene Miller was born March 22, 1923, in the Town of Pine Valley, Clark County the daughter of Frank and Louise (Kessler) Miller. She attended Neillsville area schools and graduated from Neillsville High School. She then worked for a short time at a shoe factory in Marshfield.

 

She was united in marriage to Frank Zank, May 1, 1943, at Scott Field Air Force Base in Illinois. Jeanette went with Frank when he was transferred to California, and she returned home when he was transferred overseas.  When Frank returned home, they started a family and farmed in the town of Grant (and also lived several years in the Town of Pine Valley).  In 1963, she began working as a cleaning lady at the Neillsville Memorial Hospital and a short time later she went to work for Schultz Bros Five and Ten and worked there for 14 years.

 

She was a member of the United Church of Christ and the American Legion Auxiliary.  She enjoyed flowers and dancing, especially to polkas, but most of all she loved her family and loved spending time with them at the family gatherings.

 

She is survived by her husband, Frank; seven children, Linda (Stuart) Wulf of Elkhorn, Ron (Amber) Zank of Neillsville, Donna (Dennis) Eddy of Neillsville, LuAnne (Bud) Eddy of Burlington, Wanda (Mark) Kunze of Neillsville, Dale (Stacy) Zank of Neillsville and Lori (Brad) Schmidt of Neillsville; 14 grandchildren, Brent and Jenell Reynolds, Shannon and Megan Wulf, Alexis and Mason Eddy, Kennedy and Bailey Zank and Braydon Zank.  Jeanette is also survived by a brother, Donald (Caroline) Miller.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Angie; and four brothers, Bill, Mick, Jim and Clarence.

 

Funeral services for Jeanette were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at the United Church of Christ in Neillsville.  Pastor Bryan Olson officiated.  Music was provided by Eileen Zank, organist, and Walter Karl, soloist.  Interment was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Visitation was from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, at the Gesche Funeral home in Neillsville, and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the United Church of Christ.

 

Casketbearers were her grandchildren: Greg Eddy, Randi Wulf, Lori Reynolds, Clint Zank, Becky Zank, Todd Eddy, Travis Eddy, Joe Kunze, Jennifer Boon, Mike Zank, Olivia Zank, Austin Zank, Dan Schmidt and Dylan Schmidt.
