Cram, Richard Sr. (9 November 1933 –2 September 2011)

 

Richard Cram Sr., 77, of Neillsville died Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

 

Richard was born Nov. 9, 1933, in Neillsville, the son of Ernest and Antoinette (Hardy) Cram.  He attended the Reed School through the eighth grade and then helped out on the family farm in the Neillsville area until his parents retired in 1957.  He worked for Short’s Fur Farm for a number of years. 

 

Richard was united in marriage to Corrine A. Bradle Feb. 20, 1960. After getting married, he worked for Roddis Forestry Products in Park Falls for two years, then moved back to Neillsville in 1962 and purchased a home in Pine Valley Township.  At that time, he began employment with Nelson Industries and worked there until his retirement in 1991. After he retired from Nelson he went back to work for Short’s Fur Farm for a few years before retiring completely.

 

He is survived by his wife, Corrine of Neillsville; six children, Richard (Gloria) Cram, Jr., Pamela Cram, Dawn Cram, Linda (Richard) Weis, all of Marshfield, Michael Cram of Loyal and Cheryl (Jason) Parrish of Arpin; six grandchildren, Theresa, Matthew, Nicole, Kayla, Victoria and Chelsea; three great-grandchildren, Jordon, Joselyn and Abagale; and a sister, Caroline (Floyd) Murphy of Willard.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ernest Jr., and Arthur; a sister, Clara; and an infant son, John James.

 

A memorial service for Richard will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Rev. Varkey V. Joseph will officiate.  Music will be provided by Ronald Resong, organist, and Rita Kuchenbecker, soloist.  Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at the Gesche Funeral home.
