At 9 a.m. nuptial rites an St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Saturday, October 20, Miss Sharon Ann Denk became the bride of Allen J. Schoonover. The Rev. Fr. Phillip Scherer, Chicago, a cousin of the bride officiated at the ceremony, and High Mass was sung by St. Anthony’s choir with Mrs. E. M. TrInka at the organ.

 

Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Denk, Loyal, and Mr. and Mrs. Buford Schoonover, Milwaukee are parents of the groom.

 

For her wedding the bride chose a ballerina length gown of white lace and net, styled with a beaded Mandarin collar, fitted bodice, and full skirt. Her fingertip veil was caught to a crown style headpiece and she carried  a cascade arrangement of blue and white carnations.

 

Miss Diane Denk was her sister’s maid of honor and Miss LaVonne Denk, also a sister of the bride and Miss Connie Bertz were bridesmaids. Ballerina dresses of blue tissue nylon and net with crown style headpieces of white mums were worn by the attendants who carried white carnations in a basket effect arrangement.

 

Sue Ann Teach, Richland Center, a niece of the groom, was flower girl.

 

Best man was John L. Denk, Greenwood, an uncle of the bride and Terrence DEnk, a brother of the bride and Richard Catlin were groomsmen.

 

Ushers were Eugene Colby, brother-in-law of the groom. and Robert Denk, Alma Center, cousin of the bride.

 

The ring bearer was Kenneth Denk, brother of the bride.

 

A 10:30 breakfast was served at the bride’s home, and a reception and buffet supper were served in St. Anthony’s Church hall.

 

The bride is a graduate of Loyal High School, class of 1954 and for the past two years has been employed by the Clark Electric in Greenwood.

 

The groom was graduated from the Loyal High School in 1952. He served in the army 18 months of this service being in Alaska.

 

When the new Mr. and Mrs. Schoonover return from a honeymoon in northern Wisconsin and Michigan, they will make their home in Milwaukee.

 

A navy blue wool dress with white angora trim was worn by the bride’s mother,& the groom’s mother wore a black suit with white trim. Both wore corsages of red rosebuds and white carnations.

 

Guests from away came from Chicago and Bensonville, Illinois, Milwaukee, Richland Center, Eau Claire, Alma Center, Phillips, Greenwood, Spencer, Beloit and Oconomowoc.
