Creviston, Roy A. (3 MAY 1876 - 4 DEC 1948)

Funeral services for Roy A. Creviston, who died at his home, 404 Winter St., Eau Claire, about 2:00 o’clock Saturday afternoon, after three years illness, were held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in that city, Tuesday afternoon.  Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire.

Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Willis F. Oatman, three grandchildren, and two brothers, Charles H., Camptonville, Calif., and James F., Eau Claire Lake.  He attained the age of 72 years, 7 months, and 8 days.

Roy a., oldest of three sons of Frank A. and Sarah (Gaylord) Creviston, was born at Springville, Vernon Co., Wis., May 3, 1876.  The family moved to Nettleton’s Corners in the late ‘70’s or early ‘80’s, and this vicinity was his home until thirteen years ago, when he moved to Eau Claire.  He attended school here (Humbird, Clark Co., Wis.), and graduated from the high school with the class of 1896.

On Aug. 17, 1910, he was united in marriage with Miss Regina Fischer of Granton, and to this union was born one daughter, Eileen.

Mr. Creviston followed the profession of barber, conducting a shop here alone, and in partnership with Guy N. Crandell, until he moved to Eau Claire in January 1936, continuing in a shop in that city until ill health caused his retirement three years ago.  He served most efficiently as clerk of the town of Mentor for twenty-five years.

Mr. Creviston’s parents preceded him in death several years ago.  He had many friends here and in Eau Claire, who mourn his death.
