East Grant (18 February 1910)

The Dave Garbisch and J. P. Breseman families have been slightly under the weather the past week with colds.

C. A. Latamore and wife arrived in Granton last Saturday from Spirit Lake, Iowa. We are glad to see them back once more.

Mrs. R. Anding and Elsie Breseman of Altoona came down Monday in response to a telegram that a cousin Arno Beer of Marshfield was to be buried Tuesday. Arno was a fine lad and well liked by all who knew him.  Our sympathies are with the bereaved family.

R. W. Mellen and wife, C. A. Latamore and Wife, Jap Spry and family and Loyal Jordan and family Sundayed at H. A. Davis’.

There was a gathering at Mr. R. Kurth’s Sunday p.m. in honor of Elsie’s and Hilton’s birthdays.

Lena Plaul entertained company Sunday.

A chicken lived,

A chicken died,

Its drumstick and its wing were fried,

Its feathers by a dealer dried

And, very shortly after, dyed.
