Coxwain Lynn Dignin returned home last Thursday evening, after his service of enlistment in Uncle Sam’s Navy.  He has been on duty in nearly all parts of the world.  For several weeks past, before receiving his discharge, his boat was stationed at San Francisco.

A committee from the W.S.C.S. of the Methodist Church, composed of Mrs. Pickett, Mrs. Losey, and Mrs. W.C. Flood is making a canvass of the community for funds to purchase chairs for use in the new basement of the church.  A folding type of chair, wooden frame that can be used in the church when necessary, will be bought.  The ladies have been quite successful in their canvas, and if others wish to give a chair who have not been called upon, they are requested to hand their mite to one of the committee before Oct. 22nd.
