Lockman, Harold David (10 November 1915 - 20 December 1962)

Columbia News:

Mr. and Mrs. Ward Lockman received a telephone call from Eugene, Ore., last Thursday evening informing them of the sudden death of their son, Harold, 47, who was stricken with a heart attack that afternoon while at work at The Dalles, Ore.

Harold David Lockman was born November 10, 1915, to Ward and Ella (Baumel) Lockman in the Town of Hewett.  He received his education in the Sunny Nook School.  At the age of 21, he went to the state of Washington, where an uncle resided, and found employment there.

He was married to Elsie James at Coeur d’Alene, Ida., and they purchased a home in Myrtle Creek, Ore., where they lived for a time.  As his work took him to various locations he bought a house trailer and his family traveled with him.  He was employed in the lumber industry operating a large caterpillar for road construction in the timber lands.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, David, Gary and Billy; a daughter, Kimberly; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ward Lockman of Columbia, Wis.; three brothers, Ward of Longview, Wash., Loren of Eugene, Ore., and Glenn of Myrtle Creek, Ore.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Steele Funeral Home at Longview, Wash., with burial in the Longview Cemetery.
