Grant (6 December 1962)

 

The Rev. E. T. Keller, pastor of Lutheran churches in Pittsville and Sherwood, will be the interim pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, Town of Grant.  He will be assisted by the Rev. G. N. Krueger of Marshfield.  It has been decided to hold morning services each Sunday, except the first Sunday of each month, which will be in the evening.

 

Mrs. Marion Spencer was called to Iowa last week by the death of a relative.

 

Mr. and Mrs. William Chambers and daughters visited Mr. and Mrs. Gavin Upton and family last week in Black River Falls.

 

Mrs. Lawrence Stanley, the former Katherine Swann, is attending Central State College in Stevens Point, majoring in upper grade work. She had been employed in the Neillsville Nursing Home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Stanley entertained last weekend Mr. and Mrs. Duane Stanley and family of Indianapolis, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. Dale Stanley and family of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Leon Stanley and son, Ray, Mrs. Paul Wolf, Marion Spencer and three sons of the Town of Grant.  The Duane and Dale Stanley families also visited there.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Swann of Chicago are spending the winter in their residence, the former home of Mr. and Mrs. Vint Lee, in the Town of Grant.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ted Hillert and family of Tomah and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hillert, Jr., and daughter, Katherine, of Oak Park, Ill., were weekend guests at the Richard Hiller Home.

 

Thanksgiving guests at the William Lehman home included: Mr. and Mrs. James Lehman and children of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Mel Smith and Todd of Appleton, and Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Dageford and two children of St. Paul.

 

Mrs. Eugene Thiede and children visited Saturday at the Arthur Drescher home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. George Hanson and daughter, Sheila, of Milwaukee visited last week at the Gordon Vine home.

 

Judy and Kenneth Gerhardt, children of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Gerhardt, have measles.

 

Nancy Huckstead, Fond du Lac county home agent, visited Mr. and Mrs. Harold Huckstead last weekend.
