Erickson, John E. (23 September 1891 - 12 November 1962)

 

Funeral services are being conducted this (Thursday) afternoon for John E. Erickson, 71, of Rt. 2 Loyal, who died Monday in Neillsville.  Peter Hunter and Charles Preston will be in charge of the service from the Georgas Funeral Home at 2 p.m.  Burial will be made in the Lynn Cemetery.

 

Mr. Erickson was born September 23, 1891, in Minnesota, son of the late Eric and Tonnettea (Skalrud) Erickson.  He attended school in Minnesota.  Following the death of his mother, when he was a small child, he and his father went to Norway for six years, where he attended school.  They later returned to Minnesota and on May 7, 1924, he was married to the former Vesta Johnson in Stanley, N. D.

 

They came to Clark County in 1926 and located on a farm in the town of Lynn, where they had resided until six years ago, when Mr. Erickson retired and moved to Loyal.

 

He is survived by his wife and the following children: Maurice and Verlyn Erickson of Oroville, Cal.; M/Sgt. James Erickson of Sheppard AFB, Wichita Falls, Tex.; John D., Tilman and Richard of Milwaukee; Mrs. Donald (Evelyn) Porter of Bellevue, Wash.; and Mrs. Ronald (Alice) Schlinsog of Janesville.  He is also survived by a brother, Thord Erickson of Colntorf, Minn., and 18 grandchildren.

Funeral services for John E. Erickson, 71, were conducted last Thursday from the Georgas Funeral Home.  Peter Hunter and Charles Preston of Milwaukee officiated.  Burial was made in the Lynn Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers were: Peter Lydikson, Anton Katzenberger, Nathan Markham, Ed Schlinsog, Ralph Feldt and Oswald Accola.
