Theis, Elaine (12 OCT 1946)

The Church of St. Joseph at Fairview was the scene of a very pretty wedding Oct. 12th, 1946, when Miss Elaine Theis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Theis, became the bride of Mr. Phil Schlosser Jr. of Durand.  They were attended by a brother and sister of the groom.

The bride and maid of honor wore blue suits with brown accessories, with rosages of roses and gardenias.

The bride is a graduate of Humbird High School with the class of ’45 and attended teachers college in Eau Claire for one year.  The groom is a graduate of Sacred Heart High School of Durand, and has been in the navy five years.  The past year he has been doing preparatory work at the teachers college in Eau Claire.  At present he is attending the Wisconsin Mining School at Platteville, in which city the newlyweds will reside during his college course.

Mrs. Lloyd Schlicter and Mrs. John Blang Jr. prepared a very tasty wedding breakfast, which was served at the home of the bride’s parents, following the ceremony.

Relatives from away attending were: Mr. Phil Schlosser Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schlosser and baby, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Schlosser and children, all of Durand; Miss Lucille Schlosser of Eau Claire; Mrs. Len Heyroth, Miss Eleanor Heyroth, Mr. Leo Heyroth, and Miss Mary Faber of Alma Center; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Heyroth of Madison; and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Edgar.

Neighbors and friends surprise the bride at a pre-nuptial shower the Sunday afternoon preceding the wedding with many beautiful gifts.
