Repplinger, Mathew K. (6 JAN 1874 - 20 JUL 1946)

Mathew K. Repplinger, brother of Frank and Jacob Repplinger, and in his youthful days a resident on the old homestead in Cleveland (Jackson Co., Wis.), died at his home in Joplin, Mo., at 6:45 Saturday afternoon of heart trouble.  He was past 72 years of age.

Born Jan. 6, 1874, in Tiensdorf, Alsace-Lorraine, he came to this country when eight years of age, the family settling in the town of Cleveland.  Mr. Repplinger owned the old home forty at the time of his death and it has been his for many years.  He went to Missouri in 1896, and worked for a dairy company in Joplin.  He later went to work for an ice cream company, and in 1906 he established his own business, the Repplinger Ic Cream Co., in which he was very successful.

Mr. Repplinger married Pauline Roehling in Joplin, June 12, 1906, who, with two daughters and two sons, survives him.  Surviving also are two sisters, Mrs. Mary Steinhour of Streeter, Ill., and Mrs. Frank Weirather of Keokuk, Iowa; and four brothers, Fran, who now lives with his daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Staves, near Merrillan; Jacob, who resides in Cleveland; John of Nauvoo, Ill., and Peter of Sheridan, Ore., also a number of other relatives.

Funeral services were held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Joplin, on Tuesday forenoon, and burial was in Ozark Memorial Cemetery of that city.
