Genskow, June  (21 JUNE 1956)

 

St. Anthony’s Catholic Church of Tigerton was the scene at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 21, of the wedding of Miss June Odell Genskow, daughter of Mrs. William Genskow, of Tigerton, to Edward R. Schecklman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Schecklman of Neillsville. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Father Arnold Schmidt. The hymns, "On Thhi Day O Beautiful Mother," What Could My Jesus Do More," and Oh Lord I Am Not Worthy" were sung during the service.

 

The bride wore a long torso effect gown of white taffeta with a white metallic net overskirt. The bodice, scallop trimmed, featured long sleeves, pointed at the wrists. Her Queen Elizabeth grown, which was set with rhinestones and pearl, held her veil f illusion net. She carried an arrangement of red roses and white pompoms.

 

For her attendants she chose her three sisters; Mrs. Anthony Schecklman, for matron of honor, and Miss Arlene Genskow and Miss Carol Genskow, for her bridesmaids. Mrs. Schecklman wore a gown of aqua taffeta with a pale blue metallic netting overskirt. The long torso dress was ruffle trimmed. She wore a matching headpiece and carried aqua carnations and white baby mums.

 

Yellow taffeta with a pale blue metallic net overskirt gowned one bridesmaid. Yellow carnations and white mums with a matching headpiece completed her costume. The other bridesmaid wore pink taffeta with a pale blue metallic net overskirt. Her costume was completed with a matching headpiece and she carried pink carnations and white mums. The dresses were all styled identically.

 

Anthony Schecklman, brother of the groom, was his best man, and his other attendants were another brother, James Schecklman, and a cousin, John Walter.

 

One hundren guests attended the dinner and reception at the home of the bride’s mother. Bouquets of assorted summer flowers decorated the church and home.

 

The groom is a graduate of the Loyal High School and is engaged in farming near Neillsville, where the young Mr. and Mrs. Schecklman will reside.

 

Relatives and friends from Wausau, ?, Neillsville, Clintonville, Granton, Shawno, ?, Hartford, Milwaukee, ?, came for the wedding.
