Syth, Mr. and Mrs. James (Golden - 1 October 1962)

 

Mr. and Mrs. James Syth of Jim Falls, former residents of Greenwood, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary September 29 in the Legion Hall in Jim Falls.  Many relatives from this area attended a dinner served at noon and an "Open House."

 

James Syth and the former Martha Gries were married in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenwood, October 1, 1912.  The honored couple received many congratulatory cards and gifts.  Corsages were presented them by her godchild, Tom Lindner.

 

Dinner guests were: Mr. Syth’s sister, Mrs. A. (Myrtle) Anderson, of Lincoln, Nebr., whom he had not seen for 14 years, and her husband; and his brother, Arthur Syth of Greenwood; Mrs. Syth’s sisters, Mrs. Alice Stiefvater of Greenwood, who was an attendant at the wedding 50 years ago; Mrs. Albert (Mary) Wagner and her husband of St. Nazianz; Mrs. Walter (Theresa) Stabnow and her husband of Neillsville; and Mrs. Catherine Lindner of Greenwood.

 

Nieces and nephews present were: Mr. and Mrs. Walter Stabnow of St. Paul; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Stiefvater of Wauwatosa; Mr. and Mrs.  Robert Stiefvater and two daughters of Green Bay; Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Wagner of Valders; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wagner and Frank Mueller of Kiel; Ted Wagner, Mr. and Mrs. George Kinier, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Hickman, all of Newton; Mrs. Amanda Avery of Wauwatosa; Mr. and Mrs. Eugent Merkel of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Lindner and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Lindner of Loyal; Mrs. Glenn Stewart and Miss Carmen Lindner of Greenwood; also Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lenz of Oconomowoc.

 

Friends who attended the "open house" in the afternoon came from Iowa, Jim Falls, and Greenwood.
