Sather, Mable (5 August 1912 - 2 October 1962)

 

Mrs. Ole Sather, 50, West Allis, formerly of Greenwood, died at 5 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, at the Minnesota University Heart Center following open heart surgery that day.  She entered the hospital September 17.

 

The former Mable McConnell was born August 5, 1912, in Greenwood, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert McConnell of Greenwood.  She was a 1931 graduate of Greenwood High School and a member of Grace Methodist Church.

 

She was married June 13, 1953, in Milwaukee, to Ole Sather.  The couple lived in Milwaukee for short time after their marriage, then moved to Greenwood and lived here until three years ago, when they returned to the Milwaukee area.

 

Survivors include her husband; a stepson, the Rev. Gordon Sather of Louisville, Ky.; two grandchildren; her parents; a brother, Roy McConnell of Beloit; and a sister, Mrs. Arnold (Edna) Hubert of Milwaukee.

 

Funeral services were held here Saturday from Grace Methodist Church.  The Rev. Gene Carlson officiated. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers were Arthur Christie, Lloyd Peterson, Wilbur Stewart, Viv Carteron, James McConnell and John Syth.  Mrs. Wayne Voss and Trudy Hill sang, "Near the Cross" and "Back of the Clouds" accompanied by Mrs. Don Warner.

 

People from away attending the service were: the Rev. and Mrs. Gordon Sather and two sons of Louisville, Ky.; Ole Sather of West Allis; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Anderson, Harvey Anderson, Mrs. Oscar Rear, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Hubert, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Dethloff, Mrs. William Hubert, and Herbert Koenig, all of Milwaukee; Mrs. Hazel Stoneburg of Portland, Ore.; Roy McConnell and daughter, Doris, of Beloit; Mr. and Mrs. Chester Peterson of Anchorage, Alaska; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Nelson, Mrs. Hans Hyllested and Gunde Nelson, all of Rice Lake; Mrs. Ida Flash of St. Louis, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. John Christie of La Crosse; Mr. and Mrs. George Brown of Argonne; Mr. and Mrs. Claude McConnell of Ellsworth; Mr. and Mrs. Free Christie, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Christie and Mrs. Arlene Lobner of Neillsville.
