Olson, Clarence P. (Sells Garage - OCT 1945)
Clarence P. Olson sold his garage and all stock and equipment to Steve Figura of Chicago, who takes possession this Thursday. Mr. Figura has also purchased the E.R. Schmidt house, which is occupied by Edwin Harris and family. He is moving his family, consisting of his wife and three children, from the city. His brother, who is now in the service, will join him here (Humbird, Clark Co., Wis.) as soon as he is released, which is expected by spring. Both of them are expert repairmen and will give the community careful and efficient service. Mr. Olson expects to remain in the garage for a few weeks until the new owner becomes established in the community. He has been owner and operator of the garage and his family residents of the village since 1931. They will reside here for the present, but have no definite plans for the future. Mr. Olson’s long illness last winter and an apparent necessity of a change of occupation for the time being was the reason for his disposing of the business at this time. The new owner and his brother were former resident of the Thorp vicinity. During the war Mr. Figura was employed in a war production plant on the west coast.
