Dignin, Betty Jean (26 AUG 1945)

Before an altar decked with garden flowers, Miss Betty Jean Dignin, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Dignin of Humbird (Clark Co., Wis.), and S-Sgt. Dale Austin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Austin of Merrillan, were united in the holy bonds of matrimony, on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 26th, 1945.  Rev. N. Dechant performed the single ring ceremony.  The wedding took place in the Evangelical and Reformed Church.

Preceding the ceremony, Mrs. Edith Smith, cousin of the bride, sang "Oh Promise Me" and "I Love You Truly," accompanied by Mrs. Emma Theiler at the organ.  The bride entered the church to the strains of Lohengrin’s wedding march.  Her gown was white ninon over satin trimmed with lace, round neckline, long sleeves, fitted bodice, and a long circular train.  Her fingertip veil fell from a tiara of seed pearls.  She wore a pearl necklace and carried a bouquet of red and yellow roses and baby’s breath.

The bride was attended by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Erma Dignin, who wore a gown of aqua chiffon over satin, with long sleeves, round neckline and fitted bodice.  She wore a pearl necklace and carried a shower bouquet of pink asters.

The flower girl, Sue Anne Creviston, cousin of the bride, wore a floor length gown of white chiffon over satin, trimmed with lace.  She carried a white basket of garden flowers and strewed petals in the path of the bride.

The groom was attended by MM1C Edward O’Masa of Eau Claire.
