Van Horn, Ethel (4 AUG 1945)

A wedding of interest to many friends took place at Pigeon Falls, Wis., Saturday, Aug. 4th, 1945, at 1:30 p.m., when Ethel Van Horn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Van Horn, became the bride of Leonard Nelson, son of Mrs. Mary Nelson.  Rev. Christopherson performed the double ring ceremony.

Miss LaVerne Hendrickson, a close friend of the bride, and Mr. Gordon Gearing, a friend of the groom, were the attendants.

The bride and bridesmaid were attired in dark blue street length dresses with white accessories, and corsages of roses and sweet peas.  The three strand pearls worn by the bride was a gift of the groom.  The groom and his attendant were dressed in dark brown suits with red roses in their lapels.

After the wedding the bridal party drove to the home of the bride’s parents, where a delicious supper was served.  The same evening the bride and groom left on a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin.

The bride is a graduate of the Alma Center High School and of the Black River Falls teachers’ training department, and for the past twelve years has been engaged in teaching in  Jackson County schools.  The groom is employed at the Godfrey Laufenberg farm, where he will continue his work.  Their many friends join in wishing them much success and happiness.
