A unique gift from Master Sgt. C.W. Bobb to his mother, Mrs. T.A. McCready, is on display in a post office window.  Sgt. Bobb, who is with the army in New Guiana, made the two pieces, a cigarette holder and an ash tray surmounted by an airplane.  The set was made from Jap shells found after the fall of the islands.  It is an excellent piece of art work.

Mr. and Mrs. R.M. Fletcher went to Milwaukee to attend the convention of Wis. Canners Association Monday and Tuesday, and also visited relatives in that part of the state.

Fred Greub, who was employed as cheesemaker at Fond du Lac during the summer months, and spent the last month helping his brother Will in the garage at Monroe, has returned home.

Mrs. Florence Coan of Sycamore, Ill., spent the past week with her father, W.A. McMillan.  Mr. McMillan accompanied her to Sycamore Tuesday night.

Mrs. Fowler and Miss Alice were in Eau Claire Saturday, and Mrs. R.M. Russell returned home with them.  Mrs. Russell has sotred her household goods in the upstairs rooms of the Kindt house, and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Terrell will move into the lower part of the house the last of the week.
