Fristad, Agnes (17 FEB 1893 - 28 SEP 1944)

Neighbors, friends and former schoolmates gathered at the Methodist Church at 2:00 o’clock last Sunday afternoon to attend the last sad rites for Miss Agnes Fristad.  Many beautiful flowers from friends expressed the esteem in which she was held by all who knew her, and sympathy to those who mourn her death.

The Rev. Robert W. Sachtjen officiated at the burial service, using as a text for his sermon, verse 12 from the 90th Psalm: "So teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom."  Mrs. Harold Thur of Fairchild, sang, "Jesus, Savior Pilot Me," and "Savior I Follow On," with Mrs. Russell Truber accompanist.  Pallbearers were Wm. Theiler, Oswald Michael, Fred Trachsel, Wm. Aebersold, Max Schenk, and Tony Mayer.  Burial was in Mentor Cemetery.

Agnes Fristad was born Feb. 17, 1893 at Whitehall, Wis., and passed away Sept. 28, 1944, at a hospital at Superior, at the age of 51 years, 7 months and 11 days.

When she was eight years of age the family moved to this vicinity, which has ever since remained her home.  Growing to beautiful young womanhood, she completed the course of the local high school, graduating with the class of 1911.  For several years following she was employed as an assistant in the Humbird Post Office.  In girlhood she became a member of the Free Methodist Church and was one of its faithful adherents.

In 1917 she became seriously ill from the effects she never recovered.

She leaves to mourn her death, her mother, Mrs. Betsy Fristad, and three brothers, Clarence B. of Eau Claire, Harry M. of Colby, and Nordahl S. at home; besides other relatives.
