Wagner, Joyce Jean (Marriage –9 June 1962)

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville was the scene Satruday of the wedding of Miss Joyce Jean Wagner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wagner, Rt. 2, Neillsville, and Valentin Kuzjak, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kuzjak, Rt. 3, Neillsville. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Norman Lindloff before an altar decked with vases of lavender and yellow iris and yellow lilies.

Mr. Wagner gave his daughter in marriage.  For her wedding she chose a floor length gown of nylon net, with chantilly-type lace trim.  The full, bouffant lace skirt was fashioned with tiers of lace down the back.  The fitted bodice was highlighted by a scalloped neckline, trimmed with rhinestones and pearls and long tapered sleeves.  Her fingertip veil cascaded from a crown headpiece.

She carried a bouquet of red roses and white carnations, entwined with greens.

Serving as maid of honor was Miss Sarah Poertner, a friend; and Miss Helen Kuzjak sister of the groom, was bridesmaid.

Victor Kuzjak served his brother as bestman.  His groomsman was Fred Wagner, Jr., brother of the bride.  Mickey Kuzjak and Phillip Wagner ushered.

One hundred fifty guests attended the reception held in St. John’s school.

The bride is a graduate of the Neillsville High School, class of 1959, and is a bank employee in Neillsville.  Mr. Kuzjak received his education in Chicago and works in Marshfield.  The newlyweds are residing at 20 Grand Ave. Neillsville.

Out of town guests here for the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Kelling and family, Waynesboro, VA.; Mrs. August Wagner and Harvey, and Mrs. Meta Opperman, Milwaukee; Mrs. Lawrence Andrews and Michael, New Brighton, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Helmuth Lemke, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Kettler, Mrs. Arthur Petzold, Mrs. Bibas, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hawkins, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Kruegel and family, Mr. and Mrs. George Hawkins, Jr., all of Milwaukee and Racine.
