Nibbe, Delores (25 DEC 1943)

A quiet but pretty wedding was solemnized when Miss Delores Nibbe became the bride of Mr. Maynard Oligney in a single ring ceremony, performed at the Evangelical and Reformed Church in Neillsville, Saturday, Dec. 25th, 1943, with Rev. N.J. Dechant officiating.

The bride was attractively dressed in a black satin street length dress, with matching accessories.  She carried a small bouquet of pink and white carnations.  Her only attendant, Miss Genevieve Nibbe, was also dressed in black, which was prettily decorated with pink and blue sequins.  Her accessories were similar to the bride’s and she wore a corsage of pink and white carnations.

The groom was well dressed in navy blue and wore a pink carnation boutonniere.  The best man, Mr. Alvin Cooper, cousin of the groom, was similarly dressed and he also wore a pink carnation boutonniere.

The parents of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Harry H. Nibbe, of Red Wing, Minn., and Mrs. Arthur Peterson, mother of the groom, also attended the happy occasion.

After the ceremony a delicious wedding supper was served at the Arthur Peterson home at Alma Center.

The bride grew to young womanhood in Humbird (Clark Co., Wis.) and graduated from the local high school with the class of ’43.  The groom has been a lifelong resident of Alma Center, with the exception of one year spent with the armed forces, from which he received an honorable discharge.

The young couple will make their home in Neillsville where the groom has employment.  This community extends its best wishes for a long and happy wedded life.
