Becker, Yvonne Florence (Marriage - 19 May 1962)

Nuptial vows were exchanged Saturday in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal, uniting in marriage Miss Yvonne Florence Becker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Becker of Loyal, and James Francis Gies, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gies of Neillsville.  The couple repeated their vows before the Rev. Fr. Norbert E. King.

Nuptial music was furnished by the church choir.

The bride, who was presented in marriage by her father, was attired in a white floor length gown of nylon organza styled with a fitted bodice with a scoop neckline edged in Alencon lace and sparkling with sequins and seed pearls.  The full, bell-shaped skirt was enhanced with Alencon lace appliqués down the front.  The back of the skirt was fashioned with a peplum over un-pressed pleats.  A Swedish crown of pleated silk organza, trimmed with pearl arches that sparkled with crystal spears, held her finger tip veil. She carried a cascade bouquet of three lilac orchids and stephanotis.

Attending as maid of honor was Miss Diann Becker of Milwaukee.  Bridesmaids were Miss Betty Gies of Milwaukee and Miss Marge Hainz of Kenosha. They wore lilac nylon organza sheath dresses fashioned with square necklines and fully gathered overskirts.  The bodices and overskirts were trimmed with wide lilac lace.  A veiled cabbage rose was the design used for their head pieces.  Bouquets consisted of cymbidium orchids and stephanotis.

The groom’s attendants were Joseph Pietrek of Neillsville, bestman; and groomsmen were Donald Erpenbach of Neillsville and Conrad Becker of Kenosha.  Donald Becker and James Hannon were ushers.

Mrs. Gies is a graduate of Loyal High School and a beauty culture school in Eau Claire, where she has been employed in a beauty shop. Mr. Gies, a graduate of Neillsville High School, is employed by Northern Auto in Neillsville.

On their return from a wedding trip to South Dakota, they will reside in Neillsville.
