Christmas, Frank (2 Jan 1869 - ? Apr 1914)

Frank Christmas was born in Lansing, Mich., on Jan. 2, 1869.  When he was five years of age his parents removed to this city and during the years that followed, Neillsville and vicinity had been his home practically all the time.  He was united in marriage to Effie Shupe in 1892 and three children were born to them.  At the time of the death of Mrs. Christmas, they were living on their farm south of this city.  In 1898, Mr. Christmas was united in marriage to Tillie Schmidt.  The greater part of his life was spent in farming and during his years of residence here, Mr. Christmas gained and maintained a reputation for honesty and uprightness.  He was a man of good character, genial disposition and withal a most pleasant gentleman.  His untimely death, as related in the clipping here attached, was a matter of the most sincere regret to his friends here, for they knew him for a hard-working man and sorrowed that his death should come at a time when he was well on the road to comfort and plenty.  Deceased is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Christmas, his wife, three children, Mrs. Arthur Winters of Hewett, Glen Christmas of Hibbing and Lee Christmas of Janesville.  Also by his sisters, Miss Eva Christmas of Marshall, Minn., and Mrs. Maude Holmes of Lewiston, Mont.; and brothers, Claude Christmas of Lindsey, Mont., Bert Christmas of Boscovis, Canada, and George Christmas.  The funeral was held last Thursday afternoon, services being conducted by Rev. Risser.

Those who were here from away to attend the funeral were Lee and Glen Christmas of Milton Jt., Wis., and Hibbing, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. J. Christmas of Greenwood, Wis., Mr. Spaniels of Marshall, Minn., Eva Christmas of Hecia, S.D., Mr. Twesdell of Turkey River, Ia., and J. Swigart of Milwaukee.
