Uhlig, Constance M. (Schuette) (July 30, 1947 - May 10, 2011)


Constance M. Uhlig, 69, Osceola, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at St. Odilia, Shoreview, Minn., after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

 

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Monday, May 16, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, rural Colby. Rev. Mark Schoen officiated. Burial followed in St. Luke's Cemetery in the town of Beaver. Pallbearers were Michael Schuette, Walter Schuette, Dean Smith, Neal Smith, Rev. Dennis Olson and Dennis Lulloff.

 

Constance Mae Schuette was born on Nov. 4, 1941, in Marshfield, the daughter of Walter and Lilly (nee Raeck) Schuette. She was baptized at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, in the town of South Green Grove. She was raised on the family farm and received her education at Oak Grove School and Loyal High School, graduating in 1960. She married Gerald Uhlig on Dec. 10, 1960, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church. They made their home in Sturtevant until retiring and moving to Osceola in 1996.


She will be dearly missed by her husband, Gerald, Osceola; two daughters, Dr. Margie (James) Kennelly, St. Paul, Minn., and Sarah (Rusty) Ahles, Glen Allen, Va; two granddaughters, Sabrina and Samantha Kennelly; one sister, Dorothy Smith, Marshfield; one brother, Delbert (LaVonne) Schuette, Unity; one brother-in-law, Carl Zarnstorff, Ladysmith; one sister-in-law, Diana Schuette, Unity; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Elpha Zarnstorff, Blanche Zimmerman and Irene Olson; two brothers, Carl Schuette and Eldred Schuette; and three brothers-in-law, Franklin Zimmerman, Donald Smith and Wayne Olson.


Memorials may be given to Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church or the Osceola T.O.P.S. Club.
