Koltis, Leonard Albert (15 October 1950 - 4 May 2011)

 

Leonard A. Koltis, age 60, of Rock Dam, rural Willard, died in Rock Dam on Wednesday, May 4, 2011. Funeral services were held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp, with Rev. John Mano officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Visitation was held at the church, on Tuesday, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.

 

Leonard Albert Koltis was born on October 15, 1950, in Stanley, WI, the son of Walter and Daisy (Boardman) Koltis.  He was raised and received his education in Thorp, graduating from Thorp High School in 1968.  He attended UW-Stout where he received his B. A. in Career Education & Manufacturing Engineering. Leonard was united in marriage to Frances Renn on August 24, 1974, in Darboy, WI. They later divorced.

 

He taught Industrial Arts in Pulaski for one year and then taught in Brillion from 1975 until 1980.  Leonard went to work at Pierce Manufacturing in Appleton, as a Manufacturing Engineer.  He worked there for 10 years and then was employed as a Manufacturing Engineer at Ariens Manufacturing in Brillion for a few years.  Leonard then started his own business, Len’s Home Improvements.  He was united in marriage to Jeanne Nohr on May 11, 2001, in Appleton. She died on August 2, 2006.  He continued on with his carpentry business until the time of his death.

 

Leonard had many interests, but especially loved spending time with his children and granddaughter, hunting and fishing.

 

He will be dearly missed by his daughter, Wendolyn Koltis (fiancé Michael Lambrecht) of Neillsville; his son, Wesley Koltis (special friend, Laura Parke) of Appleton; his granddaughter, Aubrey Lambrecht of Neillsville; his father, Walter Koltis, of Thorp; two brothers: Ernie Koltis, of Washington, Iowa, and Dr. Gordon (Marit) Koltis of Winterville, NC; his sister, Susan Elliot of Greenfield, IN; four nieces, one nephew, other relatives and friends. 

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne, and his mother, Daisy.
