Paul J. Gulcynski, of Thorp, was welcomed into God’s loving arms on April 25, 2011, at the young age of 31.  Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 29, 2011, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp, with Rev. John Mano officiating.

Pallbearers were: Jeremy Gulcynski, Dennis Wojt, Jim Wojt, Mike Gulcynski, Larry Glebke and Tom Lipinski.  Burial of cremains will take place in New St. Hedwig’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date.  Visitation was also held at the church, on Friday, from 9:30 until time of service.

Paul Jacob Gulcynski was born on February 4, 1980, Marshfield, WI, to Bruce and Rose (Wojt) Gulcynski.  He was raised and received his education in Thorp, graduating from Thorp High School in 1999, where he was very active in 4-H and FFA. Paul then attended Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, in Sturgeon Bay, where he studied diesel mechanics.  He was united in marriage on August 6, 2005, to Rebecca Seidel at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Green Bay.  They were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Abigail (3 years) and Isabelle (9 months).  He was currently employed with Ace Ethanol, in Stanley, as a safety liaison, among many other duties.

Paul was the ultimate go-getter.  He never stopped moving.  He was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church, and was active in the Knights of Columbus Queen of Peace Council #4634 and the FFA Alumni.

He had many interests, but especially enjoyed winemaking, gardening, cooking, mechanics, and improving his beautiful home.  Paul had an amazing love for his family, helping others, Allis-Chalmers tractors, NASCAR, camping, swimming, exploring, and tractor pulls.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca, and their two children daughters, Abigail & Isabelle, all of Thorp; his parents: Bruce and Rose Gulcynski, of Thorp; his brother, Tim Gulcynski, of Thorp; paternal grandfather, Robert Gulcynski of Thorp; maternal grandparents: Jerry and Pat Wojt of Gilman; his mother-in-law and father-in-law: Paul and Lois Seidel of Green Bay; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being set up at Northwestern Bank, in Thorp, for Paul’s daughters.

Online condolences may be expressed at www.cuddiefh.com.  Thorp Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
