LePage, Barbara (25 JUN 1960)

White gladioli and orchid chrysanthemums decorated the altar of Holy Rosary Catholic Church at Owen Saturday, June 25, 1960, when Miss Barbara LePage and James Maurina exchanged their marriage vows.

The Rev. Hubert Crubel officiated at the 9:30 a.m. services which united the daughter and son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward LePage, Withee, and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Maurina, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.).

A white floor length gown of organza over net and nylon was worn by the bride as she was seen entering the church with her father.  It featured an embroidered bodice and short sleeves with a large butterfly bow at the back.  She carried a white orchid and stephanotis on a white satin prayer book.

Attendants in the bridal party were Mrs. Lois Smith, Milwaukee, matron of honor, and Miss Mary Steinwand, Milwaukee, and Miss Diane LePage, Withee, bridesmaids.  They wore street length orchid colored nylon dresses featuring large puffed sleeves and bows at the back.

Their escorts were Walter Smith of Milwaukee, best man, Michael Devine, Owen, and Jerome LePage, Withee, groomsmen.  Arlin Mills and Kenneth Melin of Owen ushered wedding guests.

A brunch was served at the Woodland Hotel in Owen following the church ceremonies.  An afternoon reception and dinner were at the American Legion Hall, Owen.

Mrs. Maurina is a graduate of Withee High School and St. Mary’s School of Nursing Wausau.  She has been employed at St. Michael’s Hospital, Milwaukee.  Her husband graduated from Owen High School and attended Wis. state College at River Falls.  He is an apprentice mortician in Oconomowoc, where the bridal couple will make their home.
