Youker, Irene J. (11 July 1883 - 26 January 1962)

 

Services for Mrs. Irene J. Youker, 78, of Neillsville, were held Tuesday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home.  She died Friday.  The Rev. E. G. Burtness of the Calvary Lutheran Church officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Mrs. Youker was born July 11, 1883, in Illinois, and on October 4, 1902, was married to Paul A. Youker in Hayward.  Mr. Youker died in 1951.

 

Six children survive. They are: Mrs. Leona Davis, St. Paul, Minn.; Vera Youker, Chicago, Ill.; Glenn Youker, St. Paul, Minn.; William Youker, Mrs. Ed (Irene) Youker, Minneapolis, Minn.; and Ralph Youker of Neillsville.  Other survivors include two sisters: Mrs. Walter (Maude) De Haven of St. Paul, Minn. and Gladys Youker of New York; two brothers, Charles and Henry Hart of Neillsville; 23 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

 

Pallbearers were: Orin Eastman, August Klann, Otto Wetzel, Frank Zank, Emil Zank and Henry Wasserburger.

 

Two hymns, "Lead, Kindly Light" and "Sometime We’ll Understand," were sung by Wilfred B. Galstad, accompanied by Miss Kathleen Galstad.

 

People from out of town here for the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Youker, Mrs. Lorraine Tierny, Mrs. Tres Hart, Mrs. Lawrence Donahue, Thomas A. Findly, Mrs. Leona Davis, Melvin Davis, Mr. and Mrs. John Roberts and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Schuritzus, all of St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs. Irene Walthers, James Walthers, Mr. and Mrs. William Youker, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Youker and Jerry Sharky, Minneapolis, Minn.; Edward Walters, USAF, Topeka, Kans.; Mrs. Dannie Dormady, Alma Center.
