Ormond, Arlene Agnes (20 October 1908 - January 1962)

 

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday from the Georgas Funeral Home for Mrs. Arlene Agnes Ormond, 53, Poulsbo, Wash., a former Neillsville and Baraboo resident. The Rev. Norman Lindloff of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Mrs. Ormond, the former Arlene Zimmerman, was born October 20, 1908, in Reedsburg. Her parents were the late Albert and Emelia (Gall) Zimmerman. She received her early education in the Reedsburg schools.

 

In 1921 she was married in Neillsville to the late Douglas Ormond, who died in 1958.  The Ormond family was engaged in farming. Sixteen years ago she went to make her home with her children in Baraboo.  Mrs. Ormond was employed in Baraboo and Madison before going to make her home with her son-in-law and daughter, in Poulsbo, Wash. She had been in failing health the past few years.

 

Surviving are six children: Wayne of Montana; Roy of Marshfield; Mrs. George (Arlene) Woods, Soldiers Grove; George, who is in the air force in Michigan; Douglas, Jr., Baraboo; and Mrs. George (Mathilda) Riley, Poulsbo, Wash.  She is also survived by the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Minnie Schenkat, Baraboo; Mrs. Clarence (Clara) Roloff, Reedsburg; Mrs. Elizabeth Buchsteiner, Neillsville; Mrs. Elmer (Betty) Hoglund, Stevens Point; Mrs. Gerhardt (Grace) Schroeder, Kenosha; Ed Zimmerman, North Freedom; William Zimmerman, Beaver Dam; Albert Zimmerman, Reedsburg and six grandchildren also survive.
