Lesneski, John E. (19 DEC 1878 - 2 AUG 1958)

 

Funeral services were held at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church for John E. Lesneski Tuesday, Aug. 5, with burial being made at the Riverside Cemetery.

 

Mr. Lesneski passed away Saturday at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley.  He reached the age of 79 years.  Pallbearers were Frank Pawlukiewicz, Sr., Marvin Sveum, David McVey, Ernest Duval, Frank Pawlukiewicz, Jr., and Donald Hutman.

 

John Lesneski was born Dec. 19, 1878 in Poland to Eva Zawadski and Joseph Lesneski.  In the year of 1909 he came to Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) and was employed at the John S. Owen Lumber Co., and on May 10th of the same year he met and married Anna Ignowski, the wedding ceremony was held at Thorp.  Mr. Lesneski remained in this community until 1929, as in that year he moved to Whitewater.  He made his home there for 23 years and after his retirement, he returned and made his home at Withee with his son and daughter-in-law, John and Joanne Lesneski, until his death.

 

Surviving his death are the following: his father, Joseph Lesneski; two sisters, Mrs. Josephine Grakowski and Mrs. Edna Jasinek of Thorp; three brothers, Adam and Anton of Thorp, and Michael of Milwaukee; one son, John H. of Withee; two daughters, Kathryn Stepek of Thorp and Amelia Held, Chicago, Ill.; one daughter-in-law, Joanne Lesneski and three grandchildren, Mary Loris and Roger Lesneski, and Theresa Held.

 

His wife preceded him in death in January 1928, also two sisters, one brother and one granddaughter.
