Mueller, George A. (? - 28 August 1961)

 

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, August 30, from St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed Church, for George A. Mueller.  Mr. Mueller was born in Sauk County and when a young man came to Humbird and purchased a farm about one and one-half mile from the village which is now owned by Elmer Duerkop.  He was married in 1901. They made their home on the farm for over 40 years then moved into the village.

 

In December 1960, Mr. Mueller went to live with his daughter, Mrs. Stanley Melrose, in Mondovi.  Death came unexpectedly August 28 after a short illness.  He was an elder of the United Church of Christ for 20 years and served on the Humbird and Houghtonburg school board for more than 20 years.

 

Survivors include his wife, Huldah of Fairchild; two daughters, Mrs. Otto (Freda) Howard of Eau Claire and Mrs. Stanley (Edna) Melrose of Mondovi; a sister, Mrs. Emelia Guetzkow, Prairie du Sac; two brothers, Herman of Madison and William of Fairchild; and seven grandchildren.

 

Pallbearers were: Herman Gerber, Elmer Duerkop, Jake Hefty, John Bryner, Archie Fradenburg and Art Zerbel.  Burial was made in Mentor Cemetery.
