Loppnow, John  (29 Feb 1872-07 June 1053)

 

John K. Loppnow, 81, a resident of this vicinity for over a half century, died June 7, at his farm home west of Loyal, Sunday, at 9:30 P.M.. The cause of his death is attributed to old age complications.

 

Funeral services were held in Trinity Lutheran Church Wednesday at 2 P.M. The Rev. E. E. Aalto officiated and burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery. Mr. Loppnow was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and held numerous offices in it. He was a member of the building committee at the time of the erection of the present church building.

 

He was born in the town of Hartford, February 29, 1872 and was married to Anna Horst in the town of Rubicon, October 1893. The year following his marriage the family moved to Clark County, to the farm where he lived for 59 years.

 

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Miss Spphie Loppnow, at home, and Mrs. Arthur (Ida) Lautenbach, Loyal; two grandchildren, and one brother, William Loppnow, Loyal. Two sisters preceded him in death.

 

Pallbearers were Leonard Denk. Burt Brown, Chester Smith, William Butterbrodt, Fred Heiking, and William Tucker.

 

The hymns, "Let Me Go" and "Nearer My God to Thee" were sung by Mrs. Romaine Rossow and Mrs. Erwin Noeldner with Miss Dorothy Capelle at the organ.
