Heimke, Hans (26 January 1903 - 5 May 1961)

 

Funeral services for Hans Heimke, 58, who died Friday at his home, were held Tuesday from the Zion American Lutheran Church in the Town of Grant.  The Rev. Evan Dieck officiated.  Burial was made in the church cemetery.

 

Mr. Heimke was born in Germany on January 26, 1903, and came to America at the age of 20.  On June 8, 1927, he was married to the former Lillian Schlinsog.  They resided in Milwaukee for three years following their marriage and then moved onto a farm in the Town of York. Two years ago they retired and moved to Granton.

 

He had been a patient in Memorial Hospital for several weeks and had returned home about a week before his death.

 

He was a member of Zion American Lutheran Church.

 

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Harland of Milwaukee and Gerald of Thorp; and a daughter, Lillian Heimke of Milwaukee.  Other survivors are: three sisters: Mrs. Gustav (Elfrieda) Friesel, Germany; Mrs. Otto (Erika) Oelke, Mecklenburg, Germany, Mrs. Oscar (Elsie) Georgi, Tacoma, Wash.; and a granddaughter.

 

The Gilbertson Funeral Home made funeral arrangements.

 

Pallbearers were: Harold and Alfred Garbisch, Carl Harlin, Robert and Frederick Elmhorst and Everett Kauffman.

 

Among those from away here for the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Harland Heimke and daughter, and Miss Lillian Heimke, Milwaukee; Gerald Heimke, Walter Zahnow, of Thorp; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Pagel, Mrs. Emil Gohr, Mrs. Julius Busch, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gerhardt, all of Algoma; Mrs. Tina Cole, Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. John Prust, Mrs. Emil Masephol, Mrs. Ed Grobe, and Mrs. Leo Roehl and children, all of Chili; Ernie Lustig and Ernest Schlinsog, Marshfield; Mrs. Melvin Beil, Auburndale, and Mrs. Minnie Schlinsog, Neillsville.
