Lening, Albert  (24 APRIL 1871-20 MARCH 1953)

 

Albert Lening, 81, died at the Menomonie Memorial Hospital, Friday, March 20, at 9 a.m., death being caused by a stroke.

 

He was born in Elsmore, Wisconsin, April 24, 1871. When a young man 19 years of age he came with his parents to Loyal. He lived here several years and then lived in other places for a few years. For the past 12 years he has lived at Wheeler. He was a member of the Reformed Church there.

 

Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church here Tuesday, March 24, at 1"45 p.m. The Rev. L. Schantz, pastor of the Free Methodist Church officiated.

 

The Rev. and Mrs. Schantz sang, "Nearer My God to Thee" and "Beyond the Sunset" with Mrs, Floyd Smith as accompanist. Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery.

 

Pall bearers were Herman Litka, V. O. Kauffman, Perry Volk, J. Hensler, Sr., James Colby, and Harold Hills.

 

Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. George Schoch, Loyal and Mrs. Frank Schoch and Mrs. Henry Rau, Mosinee; and a brother William of Madison.

 

Those from out of town who attended the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schoch, Mrs. And Mrs. Henry Rau and August Lindner, Mosinee; William Lening, Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Hills, Vesper; Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Coates, and children, Endeavor; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hills, Charles Hills and Paul Hills, Milwaukee; and Mrs. Williams and Mr. Nelson, Wheeler.
