Scheel, Helene #2 (20 June 1887 - 28 January 1961)

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday for Mrs. Helene E. Scheel, 73, of Neillsville, who died here Saturday.  The Rev. J. G. Ruege officiated at services from the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Globe.  Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Mrs. Scheel was born June 20, 1887, in the Town of Weston, the daughter of the late Albert and Bertha (Hagedorn) Klueckman.  She was educated in the County schools and had lived her entire lifetime in the Neillsville area.

On October 27, 1910 she was married to Wilhelm Scheel in Neillsville.  They farmed in the Town of Weston; and after his death in 1920 she continued to operate the farm until July 1960, when she and her son, Gerhardt, purchased a home in town.  She had been in poor health for several years.

Mr. Scheel is survived by six children: Mrs. William (Dora) Hoffman, Rt. 3, Neillsville; Mrs. Roland (Lillian) Kalsow, Neillsville; Herman Scheel, Rt. 1, Granton; Louise Scheel, St. Paul, Minn.; Wilmer Scheel, Beaver Dam; and Gerhardt Scheel, Neillsville.

Other survivors are a sister, Mrs. C. W. Kalsow of Neillsville; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The Georgas Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
