Sterzinger, Denise #2 (30 SEP 1961)

Bernard Huss, son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Huss, Abbotsford, claimed Miss Denise Sterzinger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randall Sterzinger, Dorchester, as his bride, Saturday, Sept. 30, 1961.  The double ring ceremony was performed before the nuptial high mass at 10 o’clock at St. Louis Catholic Church, with the Rev. Gerald H. Schuh officiating.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a long sleeved gown of Chantilly lace and net with a very bouffant floor length skirt detailed with pleated net fullness at the back.  A crown of rhinestones held her fingertip veil and she carried an arrangement of red roses and white pompons with fern streamers.

Attendants at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brown of Athens, brother-in-law and sister of the groom, Miss Joyce Sterzinger of Eureka, Ill., cousin of the bride, Darrell Sterzinger, brother of the bride, Miss Darlene Pfeffer of Unity, a friend, and Roy Huss, brother of the groom.

Ushers were Le Lofland and Donald Feldbruegge.

The bridal aides were dressed alike in street length dresses of deep lavender organza with full gathered skirts and cap sleeves.  They wore long white gloves and crowns trimmed with rhinestones and small veils that matched their dresses.  Matching slippers and bouquets of yellow pompons and white carnations completed their ensembles.

Mrs. Sterzinger wore an aqua dress with a dark feathered hat and Mrs. Huss chose a brown wool dress and a sand feather band.  Both mothers had corsages of pink and white carnations.

Mrs. Leo Bauer of Abbotsford and Mrs. Laura Sterzinger of Colby, grandmothers of the bride, and Mrs. Ferdinand Bower of Kaukauna, godmother of the groom, were honored with corsages of yellow and white carnations.

A wedding breakfast was served at the church hall for the bridal party and close relatives.  During the afternoon, a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, and supper for about 175 guests was served at the church hall at 4:30.   In the evening a wedding dance was held at Sportsman’s Park.

Mr. and Mrs. Huss left on a wedding trip to Canada and will be at home to friends at the Lawrence Stettler place, northwest of Abbotsford.

Mr. Huss is associated with his father in the plumbing and heating business.  His bride is employed at the Marshfield Clinic.

Guests at the wedding came from Athens, Kaukauna, Wrightstown, Kimberly, Iron Ridge, Greenwood, Eau Claire, Medford, Withee, Dorchester, Unity, Marshfield, Colby, Abbotsford and Illinois.
